Gmail Preferences

Personalize your TU Gmail account to meet your preferences.

Customize your email address

When you activate your AccessNet account you will be able to create up to five aliases. An alias is a nickname used to personalize your email address.

Prioritize your email inbox

Priority Inbox is an inbox style that  identifies your important incoming messages and separates them into three sections: “Important and unread,” “Starred,” and “Everything else.”

Archive Messages

  • Archived messages are removed from your inbox, but kept in your account so you can always find them later.
  • All Mail enables you to see a list of all archived messages - all the mail you've ever sent or received, but have not deleted.

Manage Spam

Spam Folder
It's a good idea to regularly check your Spam folder to determine if you wish to keep any of the messages flagged as spam. If you see a message that is not spam, simply right-click on the message and select Not spam. The message will be moved to your Inbox and placed at the date and time it was received.

If you are getting spam in your Inbox, open the message, then click on the menu drop-down arrow next to the Reply arrow () and select Block [sender]If you blocked someone by mistake, you can unblock them using the same steps.

If you wish to report the spam to Google, you can also go back to the menu and select Report spam.

If you need assistance or encounter issues with using mail or setting up mail on your mobile device, please click the Request Help tab on the Information Technology Services home page or call the Information Technology Services Help Desk at 215-204-8000.
