Jamf Pro - Apple Mac Management Tool

Jamf Pro is a tool for centrally managing university-owned Macs and iOS devices.


Jamf Pro is an industry-leading software tool for centrally managing university-owned Macs and iOS devices. With Jamf Pro, ITS is able to push out software updates to your computer and proactively respond to security threats. Whenever ITS sets up a new Mac, we will enroll it in Jamf Pro.


Jamf Pro provides a number of benefits including the following:

  • Easy enrollment so ITS can set up new Macs faster than ever
  • Patch management to ensure that your Mac is up to date with the latest security and feature updates
  • Automated delivery of software via a Self Service application
  • Remote assistance tools to facilitate faster resolution of issues without a deskside visit

Self Service App

You will know that your Mac is enrolled in Jamf Pro if the Self Service app icon appears in the Dock on the bottom of the screen:

The Jamf Pro Self Service app allows ITS to offer you software, printers, macOS updates, and other items, in a controlled environment for you to complete on your own time. It appears similar to the Apple App Store and is installed in the Applications folder on your Mac. A screenshot of the app appears below. To learn more, see the Jamf introductory video.
