This document outlines and defines Temple university system access roles managed by the Enterprise Directory and Banner Relationship Management (BRM) system.
1. TUsecure Managed Roles are roles managed by the Temple University Enterprise Directory.
Student: A degree seeking student with a current/effective learner record with an active student status. In addition, other individuals with the student role include:
- A newly admitted applicant for a future term who has paid the tuition deposit or for whom a tuition deposit has been waived
- A Non-degree student registered in one or more credit-bearing classes
- An IELP or AEP student
Employee: is an individual who meets one of the following requirements:
- A person who is active and exists in general person (Banner) and has a future job end date with a HR employee type staff or faculty.
- A university active faculty or staff member who has a past job end date and paid within the last 90 days.
Faculty: is an individual who is an employee and has a HR employee type of Faculty.
Inactive Adjunct Faculty (IAF): are adjunct faculty with active employment status and no active job.
Emeritus: is an individual who is a faculty, who is currently teaching or retired and has been conferred the title of “emeritus” or “emerita”.
Staff: is an individual who is an employee and has HR employee type of Staff.
Instructor: is an individual who has been assigned to teach a course during an active term.
Alumni: is an individual who has received a degree from Temple.
Senior Scholar Alumni (SSA): Must be a Temple alumnus/a or a spouse or partner of a Temple alumnus/a and should be of age 50 or older currently enrolled in the Temple Senior Scholars program offered through the Alumni Office.
Inactive Temple Student (ITS): A continuing student who doesn’t continuously register as required to retain “current” student status (i.e. stops out), who is academically dismissed, or who withdraws formally from their program (professional students only) Inactive
Temple TUpay Student (ITTS): An inactive student who has separated from the University within 1 year and owes a balance to the University.
Temple Guest (NTU): is an individual who is not a current Temple University faculty, staff, alumni or student.
Temple Rome Guest (TUR): is an individual who is an employee of Temple University Rome and is not a current Temple University faculty, staff, alumni or student.
Temple Japan Guest (TUJ): is an individual who is an employee of Temple University Japan and is not a current Temple University faculty, staff, alumni or student.
Temple Voluntary/Visiting Faculty Guest (TVF): is an individual who meets one of the following requirements:
- Is a Temple Guest who teaches and is not compensated by Temple University.
- Is a Temple visiting scholar or researcher and not compensated by Temple University.
Temple Health Systems Guest (TUH): is an individual who is a current Temple University Health System employee who works for the below affiliates:
- 60200 – TUHS Corporate
- 61000 – Temple University Hospital
- 61400 – Episcopal Campus
- 62500 –Temple Physicians
- 63000 – Northeastern Hospital
- 65000 – Jeanes Hospital
- 69900 – TUHS Executives
Continuing Education Full Access (CEF): are individuals who are continuing education students who need full access to Temple Systems.
Continuing Education Full Online Access (CEFO): are individuals who are continuing education students who need online access to Temple Systems.
Continuing Education Desktop with Internet Access (CEDI): are individuals who are continuing education students who need desktop with internet access to Temple Systems.
Non-Affiliate (member): One who had a prior affiliation and has no current affiliation with the university.
2. Banner Relationship Managed Roles are roles managed the Banner Relationship Management (BRM) system. This system is used by prospective students.
Prospect: is an individual who is identified to receive an invitation from Temple Admissions.
Inquiry: is a prospect that has expressed an interest or voluntarily submit the “intake form”.
Applicant: is an individual who has a pending Graduate or Undergraduate application.
Admitted: is an applicant who has completed an application and has been accepted by Temple University.
Denied: is an applicant who has completed an application and has been rejected by Temple University.
Deposited: is an “admitted” applicant who has expressed willingness to join Temple by paying a tuition deposit.
Enrolled: is a “deposit” user who has registered for a class or classes.
