Prepare Your TU Gmail Account

  1. Log in to TUmail at Then click the gear icon on the right top portion of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Perform the following: 1. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. 2. Select Enable IMAP. 3. Click Save Changes.
  3. Click the circle on the top right hand corner with your initials. Then click My Account.
  4. On the left side under Sign-in and Security, click Connected apps & sites,
  5. Scroll down and use the slider to set Allow Less Secure Apps to ON.

Set Up Outlook

  1. Open Outlook 2016. Click the File tab.
  2. Click Add Account.
  3. Click Manual setup or additional server types. Then click Next. 
  4. Click Pop or IMAP and then click Next.

  6. Click the Outgoing Server tab. Then select the following options: - My Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication - Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  7. Click the Advanced tab. Then select the following and click OK: - Next to Incoming server (IMAP), type 993. - Next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select SSL. - Next to Outgoing server (SMTP), type 587. - Next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select TLS. Note: You will need to select TLS before typing 587.
  8. You should see a confirmation that all tests were completed successfully. A test message will also be sent to your inbox. Click Close.
  9. Click Finish.
