Cyber Security

With suspicious cyber activity occurring daily across the globe, Information Technology Services participates in multiple cyber security campaigns throughout the year, such as the National Cyber Security Awareness (NCSAM) and #CyberSafeSemester campaigns, to help promote the best practices to ensure cyber safe experiences for our university community.

These campaigns are promoted through various channels on-campus and online by posting security tips on:

  • Campus Digital Signage
  • Information Technology Services Social Media Accounts
  • Posters and Flyers
  • Information Security Booth Events
  • Email Communications

National Cyber Security Awareness Month
#CyberSafeSemester

Every October, Temple University’s Information Technology Services Department participates in this important initiative to raise awareness about best practices for staying safe online. All month long we share information/security tips on this page, on our social media pages, around campus and at our Information Security Booth event that will have prizes and giveaways.

The start of the semester brings a lot of excitement! New classes, new projects and of course...plenty of new emails filling up your inbox. With cyber criminals now using the thrill of a new semester to bait you into their scams, Information Technology Services' #CyberSafeSemester campaign was created to share #CyberAware tips to help the university community know the signs of phishing messages that may appear more frequently at the start of the semester.
