How to Tap
  • Position the top back of your iPhone or the display of your Apple Watch within a few centimeters of the middle of the card reader. Use Express Mode: If you have an iPhone model later than the 6 or 6 Plus, your card is automatically set to Express Mode. This means you can simply tap your iPhone at the reader without needing to enter a passcode, use Touch ID, or Face ID!
  • Wait for the vibration—this indicates a successful read.
  • You’ll see "Done" and a checkmark on your screen.

Note for iPhone 6/6 Plus Users: Double-click the Home button, tap your default payment card, and choose your student ID. Rest your finger on Touch ID to authenticate, then hold the top of your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus near the contactless reader.

Important Device Information
  • Your iPhone or Apple Watch must be turned on, but it doesn’t need to be connected to a network.
  • If you have an iPhone model later than the 6 or 6 Plus, you don’t need to validate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode, and you don’t have to wake or unlock your device or open any apps to use your OWLcard.
Viewing Your OWLcard
  • To display your OWLcard, simply open Apple Wallet.
  • Find Your TUid Number: Tap your OWLcard, then tap the three dots (…) in the lower right corner and scroll down to find your TUid number.
